 Our History

A talented professional designer, TV Coverz co-founder Maryanne has infused chic creativity into clients’ homes all over the world. As more clients embraced an entertaining lifestyle, she created fabulous outdoor designer spaces ranging from sports-bar themed patios to tropical oceanfront retreats.

Maryanne and TV Coverz co-founder Jim enjoy hosting outdoor barbeques and poolside parties, often cheering on their favorite sports teams as they watched the game from the pool. Avid film buffs, they began hosting outdoor movie nights with a large, LCD flat screen TV mounted on the wall of their warm, inviting lanai. Even though the TV was well under the covered section of their patio, Florida rains blew in moisture and tiny bugs were attracted by the television’s light and heat.

Something had to be done to protect their investment.

They ordered a custom TV cover online, and with a designer’s eye, Maryanne was dismayed at the poor quality of the workmanship. She ordered another, providing exact measurements to the manufacturer. This ill-fitting cover was difficult to put on and take off, and she was worried that the stiff fabric would scratch the surface of their HD TV. With her experience in fabrics, textiles, professional drapery and upholstery workrooms, she knew she could design her own cover; one that would far surpass anything on the market. She knew her outdoor-loving clients would want the same level of quality and superior workmanship.

After researching UV-resistant, waterproof fabrics, Maryanne selected the fabric that had the most flexible give-and-take. She experimented with various designs, determined to create a cover that was easy to put on and take off yet provided the most coverage—front and back. After several prototypes, they found the perfect design.

The idea took root, and with Maryanne’s professional design experience and Jim’s keen business acumen, TV Coverz emerged. Jim’s 15+ years of financial market experience as well as his technical expertise as co-founder of Bonds.com led the partners to launch TV Coverz as a way to reach their market.

Today, TV Coverz outdoor TV covers are available in a choice of ten designer colors. Every TV Coverz product is uniquely crafted according to customer-supplied dimensions and specific mounting styles.
